Beautiful two bedroom, two and
one-half bath house located near the center of the city. Ideal
for two couples. The house has a beautiful garden and
fountain, decorated with incredible artwork from local artists, and
includes a large kitchen/dining area and two living areas. It also includes wireless
internet connection, television, telephone, and maid service two
days a week.
The house is conveniently located a
block from the large central Mercado (a covered market which offers
a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and hand made
crafts). It is a short walk from the center of the city and its
“Jardin” (the central plaza).
San Miguel de Allende is not a beach
resort. It is located in the heart of Mexico and is a cultural and
artistic center. There are artist studios and gallery openings
every week and lectures, concerts, theaters, and films to choose
from. Many visitors also enjoy taking Spanish or yoga classes, or
visiting the spas or hot springs nearby.
There are dozens of excellent
restaurants in San Miguel with a wide variety of international
cuisine (where it is safe to eat). Many restaurants include
entertainment (one has two excellent Mexican musicians and Doc
Severenson). You can have an excellent meal and entertainment for
less than $25 per person.
Popular day trips from San Miguel
include visits to the beautiful, historic city of Guanajuato (where
you can visit the Diego Rivera and Cervantes museums) and/or Dolores
Hidalgo, renowned for its talavera tile and ceramics.
While you are in San Miguel don’t miss
the Sunday house and garden tour and/or the Monday, Wednesday,
Friday historic walking tour of the city. Each Friday an
English/Spanish newspaper (Atencion) is published with an insert
titled “Que Pasa” (what’s happening?) which includes the primary
events of the week.
A visit to San Miguel de Allende is a
wonderful way to experience “old Mexico” with all the modern
conveniences.
