Storytelling Alcove

Upstairs above the art exhibit area is the FAME Storytelling Alcove. In this area children and parents can hear and see professional storytellers telling folktales from our Indiana tradition. Hear delightful stories and watch Visiting Artist performances. All Storytelling Alcove performances will last about 20 minutes.

Instrument Playground

Ever want to try your hand at the violin? Just can’t wait to groove on a trumpet? Or bang a gong & beat a drum? Now you can pretend to be a professional musician playing your favorite songs on your any instrument! In this make–believe musical fun land you will be able to play and experiment with real musical instruments from the symphony orchestra. Thank you to Quinlan Fabish Music Store for donating the use of all their instruments. And thank you to Merrillville High School band and orchestra members for helping with the Instrument Playground.

The Instrument Playground can be found in the Merrillville HS Band Room.

The FAME Imaganiarium is a wonderful playground of artistic exploration. Get your hands a little dirty and get into making some fun art projects while learning about the important artistic heritage of Indiana.
