What is FAME?
FAME, The Foundation for Art and Music in Elementary Education, is dedicated to organizing the particulars of the arts for elementary school children. FAME, and our ongoing annual programs like the Visiting Artists, Fusion Concerts, our Summer Arts Camp and regional Festivals exist for one purpose: to provide the resources for elementary students to experience and participate in the creative arts.
Annual FAME programs touch the lives of almost 200,000 school children in northern Indiana throughout the school year. FAME enriches educational programs in which children and their schools can experience and participate in a wide range of creative art. Funding for our programs comes from voluntary donations from concerned parents, teachers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, civic agencies and philanthropic foundations.
When you see the smiles on one of the thousands of students participating in one of FAME's programs, remember that you might be seeing tomorrow's Beethoven, Picasso, or daVinci. Or maybe it’s just your little girl beaming with pride. Either way, have fun and enjoy this celebration with our children.
Mission Statement
The mission of FAME is to foster and perpetuate creativity through multicultural arts education. We believe in the value and power of the arts to kindle the imagination, encourage creative thinking and enhance human development.
Our Vision is to:
• Empower teachers to nurture artistic creativity.
• Celebrate the artist in every child and develop pathways to explore the arts.
• Understand & appreciate cultures through experiences with indigenous art forms.
• Make the arts enjoyable and a part of everyday life.
